Full Official Tracklist For Muppets Soundtrack Revealed

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to The Muppets, I have only great memories. Lots of kids practically grew up with the characters of Sesame Street and the news that a Muppets movie is coming soon, has gotten everyone really excited. The grand premiere of the movie is set for November 23rd, 2011, but, for those of us who can’t wait to get a piece of the puzzle a few days ahead of time, the music album, titled “The Muppets: Original Soundtrack” will be released two days prior to the movie release. Although most of the songs are performed by one or more of the furry little critters, some of the human cast members get to sing, Andrew Bird, for example, received a song all for himself, namely, “The Whistling Caruso”, thus marking the artist’s second Muppet-related musical appearance this year. The musical supervisor for the soundtrack of “The Muppets” is none other than HBO’s Bret McKenzie. You might be familiar with his work from “Flight of the Conchords”, and if you liked that soundtarck, you’ll be glad to know that four of the songs from the new Muppets movie are original compositions of Bret McKenzie. The film’s other original tune, “Pictures in My Head” was performed by the all of the Muppets and written by Jeannie Lurie, Aris Archontis and Chen Neeman. Apart from original compositions, the soundtrack offers us some pretty bold covert, for example Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” or Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You”. The artist line-up is quite impressive too, Feist and Mickey Rooney lend their vocals for “Life’s A Happy Song” Newsom is guest vocalist on “The Muppet Show Theme” and Pacheco, one of Disney Music Group’s artists, appears on “Let’s Talk About Me.” Without further ado, be sure to pick up your own copy of the original album for The Muppets (which hits the stores on November 21st, 2011) and whether you’re more of a nostalgic when if comes to Kermit, Miss Piggy and the other furry cast members, or you just wanna treat your child with some good old fashioned fun,be sure not to miss The Muppets, it’s released on November 23rd, 2011.
